A delightful nature reserve of magnificent Deodar trees is located on the banks of River Beas that starts from Rohtang pass to flow towards the Sutlej River in Punjab. River Beas is known to be one of the five rivers that gave Punjab its name. The river emerges from a cavern at the Rohtang pass and assumes different identities as the seasons go by from a clear blue easy flowing mountain river to an awesome torrent during the monsoons. The attraction of the river has been so great that whoever came here remained to stay. The great sages Narad, Vashisht, Vishwamitra, Vyas, Prashar, Kanav and Parshuram came here on different occasions and meditated on the banks of this river.
